Where Does That Highway Go?

Day 28

This one’s late, and I’m tired. I will let my pictures tell of my first day in Yellowstone.

A bison grazing near a geothermal feature.
Steamboat Point
The shores of Yellowstone Lake, looking out toward the most remote point in the contiguous United States.
One of Yellowstone’s many excellent warning illustrations.

From your pictures (all excellent, by the way) I can see why you were tired! You saw a lot and must have traveled around Yellowstone a lot, to get all of these pictures. It is a huge park. The only place I saw among these pictures was the view of the Yellowstone River from Artist’s Point. I tried to take that picture but as I remember there were too many trees in the way preventing me from getting a clear view of it. (Or maybe I was taking the picture at a different view point.) Your picture is perfect. There is so much to see there, such interesting geographic features. I’m wondering if you have encountered the “rotten egg” smell yet. A little bit of that goes a long way! I hope you have not encountered too many rv’s on the roads. That’s another thing I remember about the park. Keep on exploring. I’m sure you must have a list of places to see. Thanks for posting these pictures even though you were tired. Love, Grandma

Wow!!! Thanks for all the gorgeous pictures of something I’ll never experience. How many times did you have to pop your eyes back into your head?
Another facetious question: Why didn’t you try to make that buffalo feel less lonely?
